What are your worst college roommate horror stories? [NSFW]

Ended up in a flat with a seemingly nice, but very shy and unsocial guy. He said he had Asperger's (which was obvious) but there was clearly more going on.

By the end of the year, three of us were moving into a house together. We asked him if he wanted to join us, which he accepted.

Not long after we moved into the house, he started getting loud at night, I asked him to stop, to which he apologised. Things calmed down for a few days before noise again.

As time went on, he got louder, and I realised it wasn't just the TV, but he was talking to himself. Then the talking got louder, then he started incorporating different voices, then he never turned the TV off, then he stopped showering, then he started getting pizza deliveries every single day (the only times he left his room).

We tried talking, but he was evasive and cagey. We contacted his professors and student counselling but they said they can only act if his parents got involved. We mentioned something when his parents came to visit, but they had settled on the "Oh, it's just Asperger's" delusion. Eventually we just hoped one day they'd see his long, matted hair, considerable weight gain, sallow skin and smell the stench that surrounded him and realised he needed help, but they never seemed to do anything.

Admittedly, even knowing he wasn't a selfish jerk but someone with clear mental health issues, the lack of sleep had started to take a toll (He'd stop talking to himself and presumably sleep at about 5am and then re-start around 9:30am) and I left him a letter saying he has to see someone because it's getting worrying. He cried, threatened me and I didn't see him again for about two weeks despite being in the next room.

By the end of the year he admitted he couldn't cope with the independent living and that it had "screwed him up." Bumped into him once or twice after that and he seemed okay, so I hope he or his family finally got him some help. Hope he's doing alright.
