What bands sound the same on all their album?

Well I was referring to rock n' roll. I think of it as a genre different than rock or rather a subgenre of rock - although now that I think about it I wouldn't really know how to define it concisely. I'd say bands like AC/DC, Warrant, Aerosmith, maybe even Queen or Rolling Stones are all "Rock n' Roll" bands whereas bands like Muse or Green Day or Daughtry or whatever else are still rock but I wouldn't call them "rock n' roll" bands if that makes sense. Maybe I'm just making some arbitrary distinction here but AC/DC and Muse are certainly distinctly different from eachother style-wise. At the very least I would classify them differently.

I certainly wasn't saying all rock is stagnant - but there's a reason you don't see bands like AC/DC nowadays - it's all been done, that style of rock is practically dead. The only modern band I can think of that has that feel to them is Airbourne, and quite frankly, they sound very similar to AC/DC. It's hard to sound distinct in that genre anymore.

And maybe rock & roll is a misnomer. I know people generally associate it with Elvis and others in a similar vein so maybe I'm using the wrong term here. But I hope you get what style I'm referring to - that 70s and 80s style of rock that was so popular.

Again though, I'm not trying to talk like I'm an expert here, I definitely have listened to my fair share of 70s and 80s rock but not nearly as thorough as I have with any rap records so who knows, I'm probably not the most qualified person here. I just feel like from my overall view of the genres, the only ones I really get a feeling of weak variety in are the 70s and 80s rock (avoiding saying rock & roll in case that's not correct) and country. Everything else, including other subgenres of rock, all have pretty good variety and it's hard to say they blend together.
