What has been the best corporate Darwin Award? A decision made by a company that basically killed the business?

We will very soon find Tumblr's decision to eliminate adult material is one of these, and we're already seeing the quick Hindenburg crash of the NRA after digging its heels in and doubling down in the face of school shootings, mass killings, and hate crimes instead of finding a way to work bipartisan politics and find a way to bend to moderate Americans and, most importantly, bridge to the next generation by creating goodwill and relationships and mutual respect with younger generations. Over and over for years and years, at every fork in the road, they chose older, whiter, more extreme right wing, and supporting or enabling hate groups and terrorists, and in those messages they also told scared and decent Americans just trying to live their lives that they and their children don't matter, and they'll never be safe anywhere as long as the NRA holds power.

When you paint yourself into a corner that tight there is no rebranding. Who the fuck are their PR people? You simply don't come back from that. I thought it would take another generation or two, for most of the people in charge there and at the GOP now to die off before the NRA was dismantled due to turning public opinion. But they announced this week they've lost so much sponsorship and donor money they may have to shutter very soon.

When you are an American business and you choose to stand with terrorism and hate - when you show people that they are not safe in their places of worship and their children will continue to die in their schools, and you don't care and will actively work to keep that a reality...

You done fucked up, and you will lose all your shit.

They chose poorly.
