Hello. To expound more on this, I live in a country where knowing your stuff and sharing it with others is considered being boastful. People turn having an education into something bad.

Example:

Person: But seriously, women are really more suited to washing dishes like the old days. They're no match for men.

Me: starts to explain that around half of the working force now are women and do just as good a job as men, also spout some facts about women having good high level career

Person: Oh wowwwww, you think you're so good now, huh?? Just coz you got an education, huh? Okay, you're the smart one now. So smart. You just don't like losing.

Which is entirely off the topic we started in. Just plain shaming you for knowing your shit and going to school.

This has also happened while on topics of r*pe, sexual orientation, etc. Or even the most mundane topics such as the origins of a pot.
