All you people sound like youre from some feature film with how badly some of these have gone...

Anyway ... the worst thats ever happened to me ... pretty tame to be honest.

I would have been 17/18 at the time. First year university. Working at a local fast food place. One day i was at the shopping centre nearby, ran into girl who used to work there who was super pretty, rather normal person too.

She asked me if i wanted to catch up over waffles and ice cream, her treat. Sure, alright - why the fuck not.

We got along super well, there was never a dull moment. Left the date, she mentions we should do it again. Yeah, alright - cool. She gives me a hug and we go on our way.

Next date or two got a little more “formal”. First one was a movie - we went and saw The Croods if i recall correctly.

She got close to me and laid horizontally across the seats with her back against my left side. She got my arm and put it around her chest. We left the movie, she kisses my cheek and off we go.

I get invited to hang out with her and her friends a few times, get introduced as just a friend -> heres me thinking we’re a little more than, at least say we’re dating or have gone on a few dates, right?

I mean we’d spent some decent time together, one time with my hand basically grabbing your tits...

Last date we had, we went to dinner, afterwards in the ride back to her place to get her home, try to suggest i wanted to hold her hand - put my hand lazily next to me with it somewhat open.

She obviously saw this - but ignored it. Got to her front door and she adamantly tells me shes not looking for a relationship right now.

Heres me standing there surprised after a few dates - just like, uh, well alright sure? Hug and a kiss on the cheek. Went home.

Never really did talk to her much after that, i mean no hard feelings or anything. She posted on my facebook wall one day when people used to post those “like this and ill tell you what i like about you” posts, it read something like

“Valkyrid darling you’re a sweetheart, you’re entertaining and funny - theres never any awkwardness around when i talk to you, its fabulous, youre great never change”

Tbh, the only thing i can think of is I believe she was trying to keep her distance because she was moving to a different state at the end of the year and she didnt wanna hurt me?
