What is bothering you today, reddit?

At my school, the seniors put on a service project called the special games every year which is a carnival and a day of festivities for the local mentally disabled children in our community. It is limited to only seniors, but we have a community service homeroom, which I am a part of, that gets to go no matter what grade level every year. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to help at the special games and I was excited to contribute again just like last year. The homeroom teacher hyped us up for three weeks leading up to the games which were today, and then yesterday after school we had received the email saying we couldn't help. I was furious and wrote out a passionate email to the homeroom teacher's higher up as the teacher was ordered by him to give us the news. The email was very long, so I'll just give the hard hitting part of it for which I think addresses the point I was trying to make for myself and the others in the homeroom. "I feel that as one of the core members of the homeroom, that the special games is the pinnacle of what we aim to accomplish in the homeroom and of what we try to convey to the rest of our class. Not being able to have the opportunity to experience what I was able to partake in last year would not only diminish a quintessential part of being in the Community Service homeroom but it would also end a year of service for the homeroom in my opinion on a low and un joyous note." Well the higher up read my email but didn't respond until he had seen me at the weekly assembly we have on Friday. He said we couldn't do it unless we had approval from his higher up, and it would be a process of trying to convince him. To which I retorted saying if you had given the whole group the news earlier then we could have done something about, but you had waited until the night before to notify us. I was unable to help this year and it completely ruined my week. But hey I'm seeing Age of Ultron tonight so hopefully that won't suck also. Thanks for letting me vent btw.

tl;dr- Dude fucked me at assembree
