What to bring to company Weihnachtsfeier?

Define “German cuisine”. In my opinion there is no universal one and it is more regional like say Bavarian, Swabian, Westphalian or North German cuisine for example. There may be some overlaps but each region has its own distinct cuisine, e.g. Maultaschen or Spätzle are typical Swabian dishes that were not known outside of Swabia. Sure, you can find them in supermarkets all across Germany nowadays but they were “invented” in Swabia. Other dishes might have the same name but are prepared differently like Sauerbraten or Kartoffelsalat.

The majority of Germans I’ve met tell me that they don’t like German cuisine haha.

How many have you met? Bet you can count them on one hand.

Also, again, there are differences in personal taste and every region has its specialty dishes. Not everybody likes everything. Take me for example, I don’t particularly like the North German cuisine like potato salad with freaking mayonnaise or soused fish like Matjes or Bismarck Hering (fish and the sour vinegar make me want to puke). Others love it. I could eat Zwiebelrostbraten or Spätzle mit Linsen und Saiten every day. Again, others despise it.
