this sentiment is going to completely evolve and/or evaporate upon graduation or with time in the field. What your describing as a less than ideal work situation is never that black and white. Your life’s circumstances will ultimately change as well, which will have more of a bearing on what you do than what you want to do, so be very critical of opportunities that come your way and the ones you take because there is a finite amount of time where you can be a fresh engineer and not expected to perform.

to answer your question, most jobs offer or promise what you want. Even designing general home appliances improves lives, but try working it for a year and see if you like it..there’s a reason companies subcontract and hire H1-B’s
