What career do I pick in bio if not medicine?

Look at the photo I linked.

Imagine Mom is on the top (Bb) and Dad is on the left (Bb). Let’s say BB is healthy, Bb is also healthy, but bb leads to serious health complications.

Even if two parents don’t have any symptoms, they could have a 1/4 to have kids with bb. So if the parents have 4 kids, based on probability, one of them would have serious health issues.

Of course this is just oversimplified. That’s why you’d have to go see a genetic counselor; someone who’s knowledgeable on the complexity of the issue that could give you advice on whether or not you’re willing to risk having kids.
