What is a casually racist experience that you have encountered?

Mid 80’s. South. Go into a restaurant ask for table for 6. Ok 10 minutes. My sister gets there with her four kids. I see looks from staff. 25 min later, family comes in. 2 adults four kids; sat immediately. I’m like wtf? I ask my table for six. Oh sorry, it will be 30 more min. What? Almost an hour? Why did you give my table away? Well, we don’t like to serve them. Them? Them, who? Points at my nieces and nephews. My sister is white; her husband is black. I lost it. Manager comes up, and I explain situation. He grindingly puts us at table near the back in the dark with hardly any lights. 30 more minutes for food. My sister tells me it’s just the way it is and I need to just shut up and eat. I couldn’t believe it.
