what causes women to be so uncomfortable with their natural sex?

Did you read books? Did you watch TV? Were the women who raised you just as lucky in their childhoods as you were? Did you ever meet strangers?

Kids are sponges, they soak up everything. Most communication is not explicit. You could have picked up disturbing messages about the role of women and about how scary it can be to be the object of male sexual desire, just by spending time with other human beings.

It might be a question to explore with a therapist if you feel you need to get to the bottom of it, in your particular case. But I think maybe what you experienced is just normal for girls growing up under patriarchy and although you may have has a lucky childhood you grew up under patriarchy just as much as the rest of us did.
