What changes would you like to see in the publishing industry?

In my country we had a series of novellas published as a box set last year which translates as 'The Five'. Each book was jointly authored by young people who worked with a mentor and the five protagonists were disabled, neurodivergent, gay, religious and trans. The brains behind the project said it was done to increase diversity, and surprise surprise it went on to win the 'best book of the year' award (despite being a series of books, not an individual volume). It just feels like tokenism and box ticking to me personally. The authors were chosen because of their orientation/ability, not necessarily because they had a story they wanted to tell.
