What to charge my teens for rent?

I paid for anything I wanted - food (I didn't have to pay if it was just what parents cooked)/clothes/tech/phone/gym/furniture/travel (car/petrol) etc or any costs associated with that.

Otherwise $50 a week once I was out of FT education, with the expectation of helping with jobs around the house and buying/cooking dinner once a week.

This was a reasonable amount as it let me build up a deposit for a house, while still helping maintain the house.

I suggest instead of paying a cleaner, get them to clean. Why would you pay $75 a week and make them pay board when you can cancel that out? I really question your priorities. Otherwise if you want them to stay, this is going to make them want to move out so at least they are getting freedom with the same amount of cash they are spending... Great if that's your aim.

Don't justify that the house will go to them - that's bullshit. As if they will even see that for decades (and between 3 of them??), unless you are planning on dying any time soon.
