What is this "Code of Conduct" thing and what does it mean for me?

Even if that were true, why would Linux have to worry about going broke? It's FOSS. But in any case, lots of huge corporations use CoCs that are longer and more restrictive than this one and those companies are the opposite of "broke"-- they're swimming in cash.

Microsoft and Apple already use this exact CoC for their open source projects, which is probably why Linus picked it.

No one wants to work at a place where you have to constantly watch what you say

Most people do work in those places anyway, though, whether they "want" to or not. And people don't want to work in places where they get yelled at or harassed, either. Some contributors have left Linux because of how they were treated.
