I used to work at this restaurant and I would always jokingly tell my boss that one day I wouldn't show up and that meant I quit (we had this relationship, it's OK). Anyway, I got super drunk on NYE and forgot that we were still open on New Year's Day so I forgot to go to work and then everyone was texting me and saying how much they would miss me and my boss asked if he could still use me for a big party that was booked in a few months. I was so embarrassed and instead of telling my boss what really happened, I just never went back. The worst part is that I told my roommate that I got fired and so he covered my part of the rent for a while until I found a new job. I never told him how I really gained my unemployment.
