what could go wrong ruining someone's cake

Pretty much anything that makes it to the front page of reddit should be treated with great suspicion. A lot of the shit that gets thousands or tens of thousands of upvotes is fake. Almost all of it.

Here's a short checklist you can use:

  1. Is it a text-based subreddit dedicated to telling stories? 90% chance it's fake.

  2. Is it a video or picture based subreddit? If there is no other context to the post, then 99% chance one or both of these is true: it's staged, or it's purposefully missing the context as to mislead the audience.

  3. If number 2 holds and the post gets a strong reaction out of you (anger, for example), 100% chance it's fake.

There you go. Don't be gullible, reddit. It makes you look fucking stupid when you jump straight into calling people "Karens" or "bitches" over something clearly fake.
