What delicious foods do Americans eat that other countries don't? Foreigners, what did you think when you came to the US and tried some of these foods?

cheez whiz isnt very good. it mostly tastes like salt with a bit of very low grade cheddar flavor. any cheese filling you might find in any sort of cracker is essentially the same thing, just a bit denser. you're missing nothing.

cool whip, it's imitation whipped cream that doesnt go flaccid very easily. denser and silkier mouth feel than whipped cream but not really something to get excited about.

pumpkin pie, majority of canned pumpkin is butternut squash. roast until well done, puree, aim for a texture similar to pudding(the custard sort, not bread sort), follow pumpkin pie recipes until you have pie, top with cool whip or icecream.

jelly, it's jam that has all the lumpy bits removed, thats it. if you mean a gelatin dessert all it is is gelatin mixed with lots of sugar and hot fruit juice and refrigerated until firm. Jello brand is basically a packet of koolaid(powdered soft drink) with a cup of sugar to about 4cups of hot water. scratch made is good, package made is ok, factory made(jello cups) utterly forgettable.

girl scout cookies, delicious but not as good as you're thinking. roughly comparable to the nicer brands of cookies you find at the grocery store. if you find keebler brand grasshoppers those are pretty close to thin mints, which are the gold standard of girlscout cookies. they're all more of a cultural touchstone than a omg you gotta have these.

fluff, soft marshmallows, make homemade marshmallows, forget to add enough gelatin, got fluff.

graham crackers are simple whole wheat biscuits with a bit of sweetness. they're tasty in an insipid way, but serve more as a robust crunchy platform to hold burning hot marshmallows and melted chocolate than flavor. more than likely you'll find a passable substitute in your toddler food aisle shaped like little bears.

ny pizza, take a well made neopolitan style, add way too much cheese, cut into large slices, fold in half and eat.
