This was way back in high school when $20 could very comfortably feed two people at a nice restaurant. She immediately ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, a drink, and an ice cream float, which meant her portion alone was about $15 after tax. I told her that I only had $20 so I was thinking we could both get drinks, split an appetizer, and order decent entrees, and still leave a decent tip.
