What did you finally realize was unflattering on you after years of thinking it looked great?

I very recently realized I always buy gigantic winter coats. I'm not sure what it's all about? I guess I think I need to go bigger to accmomodate sweaters and layers and such. And psychologically a big coat feels like it is covering more and would be warmer?

I was out for a walk the other morning and saw myself in a shop window and was genuinely shocked at how gigantic I looked. This big winter coat easily made me look fifty pounds heavier than I am. Which, who cares as long as you're warm but I have also come to realize decades too late that having all that loose material is probably not keeping me warm. I don't think that's how insulation works. Ha.
