What did you think you were really good at, until you watched someone else do it?

I knew I was awesome when I scored 23 goals my first season in single A travel when I was 13. I had hit a growth spurt when I was 12 and had just started to get coordinated with my newfound size. At 6’0”, 160 lbs I was just walking through my peers. I went to an invitational tryout for a AAA club and when I arrived, I was told they were looking to fill 2 or 3 spots. Got out on the ice and there were 20-30 other guys competing for those spots. I got destroyed in every possible way. My strength, speed, and endurance were nowhere near what would be necessary for that high level. And the guys on the ice with me weren’t even on the team. Big reality check.
