Yo when have conservatives been massacred like communists have been? There are several countries where, in times of peace, thousands of suspected trade unionists or communists were massacred. Look up Indonesia, operation Condor in south america, etc, etc...

You might say "oh but communist regimes targeted conservatives" but that isn't exactly true either: those communistic regimes targeted just about anyone who was a dissenter, sometimes focusing a great deal of their propaganda effort on communist dissenters.

The truth is that conservatives, almost by definition, are very rarely targeted. Conservatism in a given society corresponds to who has political power. This is pretty apparent in the fact that many of the socialist parties of the ex eastern bloc that claim to continue the tradition of the past soviet states are very socially conservative.
