What do we do now?

I feel your pain, man. My parents and I have been die hard fans our whole life. On my moms final birthday that took place a few months prior to her passing away from cancer, I reached out to personnel at the UofU and was able to work with the UofU football staff in creating a short surprise video consisting of various team members and coaches wishing my mom a happy birthday. The final clip of the video was coach Whittingham expressing his appreciation to my mom for her fan support of the program, letting her know that she was in the teams thoughts and prayers, and finally wishing her a happy birthday. Along with the video came a Utah logo football signed by coach Whittingham. My mom absolutely loved the gift, and since her passing, that signed football is still a centerpiece in my dads home. We LOVE this team.

Leading up to the game last Friday, we were already planning to buy our airfare and tickets to either CA for rose bowl or ATL for peach bowl. And then...Friday night happened and we’ve been super sad ever since. Yes, we can still go to SA for Alamo or SD for Holiday, but it’s just not the same. My heart goes out to the team. I can only imagine how the coaches and players are feeling right now.

Anyway...none of the above is meant to one up or shift the spotlight from your original post. Just wanted to share some meaningful background, and let you know that I know how you feel.

On a more positive note and moving forward, I hope Ute nation can re-unite and find a way to use Friday’s nightmare ending as a catalyst for future success, including an absolute dominant win in the up and coming bowl, be it the Cotton/Alamo/Holiday.

Lastly, I sincerely hope you decide to stick around this subreddit for a long time, T.D.U. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in proclaiming that YOU are the GOAT of the reddit college football forum world. Go Utes!
