What does everyone think about KG's Area 21?

I think like most people, it's pretty good if not great. KG's got a big personality that's brash and straightforward and while he's been in front of national TV for a long time he obviously doesn't have that suave smoothness like Ernie and Kenny as a couple of examples. That's why I appreciate TNT letting him be as candid as possible and I don't know if that's just because TNT being accommodating or because America is starting to favor the more honest and natural TV personalities, probably a good bit of both and other reasons as well. TNT even let him showcase his crassness in a super entertaining manner that doesn't turn off the more casual viewers or those not as familiar to black culture. They brought in KG and mixed the friendly banter of "Just a couple of guys talking about basketball in Studio J" to come out with an instant hitter.

Like I said, the camera ain't nothing new to KG but it's different being in front of a camera getting asked questions by reporters who can charm your pants off versus having minute long segments where it's just you and your personality and you gotta entertain the nation. It shows up a few times when he brings in some young guests(Andre Drummond, Isiah Thomas) and it's just them making small talk, you can feel the awkwardness. Then he brings in guests like Gary Payton and Kevin McHale and they start talking basketball; talking about how he used to do this and that when he was in the league, talking about the current stars and showing respect to their skills, even showing some post up moves. The show is gold when KG can show off his basketball IQ. I would love for TNT to just cycle in the whole 'Open Court' crew into Area 21 and try and get coaches like Steve Kerr(who was frequently on Open Court) to star as a guest.
