What does everyone think of Sekiro so far?

Jumping while locked on feels awful, and I just don't want to do it in combat. But it's the only way to beat most sweeps. I get what they were going for, but the jump is super floaty, you have really bad control of it during combat, and it leaves you way out of position to punish. It honestly feels like you're not supposed to be using it as a dodge, but you are.

And the timing on the thrust counters is weird, like sometimes its super forgiving and sometimes the window is like microseconds.

I noticed this too. Some attacks you can hit the counter button as soon as the red "unblockable" symbol pops up and they'll just walk into the counter. Others you have to be much more precise. I think it might be that polearms have tighter windows than swords, but I'd need to test that.

Also, maybe this is just me, but I feel like this game eats my imputs way more than previous souls games.

Dark Souls buffered your inputs, and I'm not sure if Sekiro does (at least not to the same extent). I've had the same issue, mostly with deathblows/deflects.
