What does it mean to "feel like" another gender?

Hopefully our answers help. There are a lot of good ones here.

Simple answer is that you don’t “feel” male because your body and gender align. You won’t notice things like gender identity because yours matches what you see in mirrors.

We notice that our gender identity does not align with our bodies. Our brains scream at us that it’s wrong. We get depressed. Anxious over things that should or should not be there, even something as simple as body hair. Suicidal over being seen as the gender we aren’t. All because our brain knows something our body wasn’t told.

We can explain our experience to you, but you most likely won’t ever truly understand. And that’s okay. Like someone else said, you don’t need to understand in order to accept. We’re all still people. We’re all still human.
