What does "Old Austin" mean to you?

Old Austin was before Hurricane Ike. Lots of people were moved to Austin and lots didn't move back to Galveston and surrounding..this is not the main reason, word of popularity and opportunities spread FAST, I mean within a few years..the hipster generation died off/got old/moved on (my mother was one of them), and HipSTERS took on Austin.

I pretty much watched happened, in the eyes of Austin natives. I don't fluff or bullshit I just tell it straight away. But yeah Now, it's over populated and i35 was direct proof of this. There were also ALWAYS accidents. The poor neighborhoods were torn down, and more upscale ones were built, this happened sometime between 2011-2016-2017. I saw some after visiting after living there around 2010-2012. Went to visit and they were torn down and rebuilt. I lived at the ones on 2401 south Lakeshore Blvd. Although I'm making ton of more money now, I don't even want to know what they're charging rent now.

Austin downtown has always been it's bright spot. Opportunity galore in almost Every department, it's always been a melting pot from all over the globe.
