What does studying in an Austrian university entail?

Croat here, studying at Uni Wien. What exactly you will need will vary from uni to uni so your best bet is looking up the specific requirements for your program.

You will definitely need a certificate proving your language proficiency and a translated transcript of your records.
You may also have to attend an entrance exam. I think most bachelors have them nowadays.
As an EU citizen you are pretty much enrolling like any Austrian would.

For a better, more detailed explanation than that you should look up the universities you would like to study at and see the information on their websites. Maybe send an e-mail to the appropriate contacts to ask if something isn't perfectly clear.

More importantly, you will also need the following:
A place to stay, such as a dorm. Look at dorms in the city you want to move into and register on time or you may not be able to get a room!
Enough money for food and lodging.

You will need to register if you're staying in the country for longer than 30 (I think) days (you are). For this you'll need a Meldezettel. You can get one easily online or at the local Meldeamt. You will also need to register further at a Magistrat within 4 months or so. Information about that will be provided when you first register. For that you'll need ID, an address, medical insurance (EU insurance works, but not national insurance. You need a EU Medical Insurance card. You can get that from your insurer at home), and confirmation of sufficient funds for the stay in Austria (a signed statement from your parents that they will financially support you is sufficient)

Good luck!
