What was a "Don't tell your mother" moment you've had with your dad?

my dad and me drove rallye in a competative way in a car, that won the world championship several times (Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo, for the one who know that sport). Most of the times we were an invited team, because the car would pull spectators to the event besides all the BMW M3, Golf GTi, Subarus and Mitsubishis that are normally running regular rallyes over here in europe.

But we still took it as a serious competition.

So at one point I (as the co-driver) gave my father a wrong direction - a fast right corner (instead it was a close left corner, which normally came afterwards), it just was too fast and I didn't recognize that fast right at all, so I repeated it. (You have to know, that in a rallye car you sit much lower that you normally do, and you can hardly look above the dash, which doesn't matter since you're looking at your notes the wohle time, but it's good for the performance of the car)

... So a few moments after I gave that direction there was an incredible hard impact. All I did was keeping my hands to my chest and trying to keep the track-rekords to my body, which didn't work at all.

The aftermath was, that we hit a forest (several smaller trees) with over 200km/h (over 120mph). We broke a good way into that forest, and it really, really hurt.

After the car stopped my dad asked, via radio, if I was hurt (we were stil lying on the roof). Since I didn't feel no pain I responded, that I was ok and in this moment my dad was already outside of the car, turning it around with some spectators.

Back on the wheels he asked me another time, while starting it up, and then we drove on. Yes, we drove till the finish line and even finished the whole race.

When we reached the finish-line my dad switched to real heavy breathing, he stopped and told me never to tell my mom about this and that he's happy it went that way.

We came to the service, told our team that we crashed at a low speed corner and did a good time. Nevertheless we made on of the last places in our class.
