My significant other refuses to wear a seatbelt, wear sunscreen, wear a mask when doing work where you will breathe in debris you shouldn’t be breathing in, won’t go to the doctor unless I force him, won’t take his meds unless I force him, will absolutely not go to therapy no matter what even though I know he needs it, won’t show much emotion and has never cried in front of me in all the years I’ve known him, and got offended the other day when I tried to help him carry a heavy object because I thought he was struggling… I wish so badly I could help him but he won’t bend. I think it has to do with his upbringing.

He’s really sweet though, and I don’t want to “change” him, I just want him to be safer & happier…it just goes to show how this fucked up mentality gets so deeply ingrained in some men, they will completely ignore common sense, no matter how intelligent or lovely they are
