What do emulator developers think about libretro and RetroArch?

I find it very disappointing that we have had to learn about this by circumstance like this, and that you never informed us about it that this was the reason you dropped all support for the core even though we had assumed a truce had been reached and we had a level of understanding.

We upheld our end of the bargain as far as we saw it, and we were surprised that after the very first version, it broke down. We were never informed about any of these misgrievances at any point.

I find it very disappointing too that all this animosity still exists, even though 1) I helped you with the Piko Interactive situation. I felt sorry for the abusive way he treated you, how he spit on your dedication for SNES emulation by maxing out your 401K. I felt that wasn't right, so I did what nobody else did, publicly exposed it in a way that caused him public embarrassment, and he got you to pay that money that he still owed you. I also 2) got you involved in an Eurogamer article where you could tell your side of the story. Disappointingly, though, the very same day that same article dropped, you made a licensing deal with the very same contractor that had been violating snes9x's license for over 4+ years. What is a journalist to think of that when you effectively still make a deal with the same license violating perpetrator? He probably figured 'man, these guys are not serious, they don't care about the principles and they just want money', and Hyperkin/Cybergadget were able to successfully woo him with some hardware, and he was on his merry way instead. He probably figured this entire article was not serious and he had been strung along. I still to this day regret that you did that, and frankly, I felt you let him win. I can't lie about it - I felt very hurt and disappointed by that.
