Oh boy. Story time. Lies, but not the normal stuff..

My last boyfriend went to my college. His half sister did too. A long time ago his parents got divorced because his Dad cheated on his Mom. The product of the cheating was his half sister, whom they shared the same father but not mother.

Anyways, they grew up in separate homes. They seemed more like cousins than siblings because of this. Him and his half sister were pretty good friends, and he would always mention that his mom would get sad when she came around the house because she reminded her that her husband cheated.

But nope! Just kidding! They were not related at all. And I went more than a year without knowing. No, he was not sleeping with her; she had guys she was seeing at the time, and was going through a divorce. But when he first met me, he knew already he might be living with her (she has a kid and lives in low income housing and was willing to rent out a room for free to him that summer.) He thought "all girls get jealous" so he made up that lie.

I also might mention that I am asian and he is white. He made up a story about studying abroad in Japan for a year, even going as far as showing me pictures (he had pulled them off of a friend's Facebook who had actually went.) He sat me down and talked in detail about each photo (what he ate, things he saw and liked, ect.) He kept these lies up the whole time, periodically referencing them (Oh, this hibachi tastes JUST like this place I had in Japan, ect.)

Of course I started questioning things towards the end, as they did not line up. I think the worst part was that everyone was in on the lies and tried to make me seem crazy for thinking they weren't true, which was easy to believe because who lies about this stuff? When I confronted him, he too expressed anger that I did not trust him. It took a long time for him to fess up and I only did after his mom told me the truth.

Ugh, thinking about it all still pisses me off sometimes. I should mail him a glitter bomb.
