What energy efficiency upgrades for your house are actually worth it financially?

Look at your electric and natural gas bills. How much is actual energy consumption in Alberta?

Also, don’t expect any of these investments to add any value to your home if selling in future. People don’t buy a home because it has triple pane windows or r30 in be attic instead of r60.

Not to pile on but some features like a heat pump and solar panels can be a negative. They scare off more potential buyers than they attract…anything ‘out of thr ordinary’ can be a dealbreaker.

Anyways, I’ve built a house and like the ‘keep it simple’ principle. I’m not at all against greater energy efficiency but the investment can be oversold.
