What event happened in your life which caused some character development for you?

Engineering at first, I already happened to be a little older than the average freshman then, but looking back I probably should've taken a year off before starting or something.

Then after I left I took a bunch of random classes at the state school, worked some different jobs doing all kinds of different stuff. When I finally went back to university I majored in Economics, which I had discovered I really liked.

I also took other random classes when I went back, I thought they were going to be blow off classes, but some of them ended up being really hard. And I still worked one of the odd jobs, just on the weekend. Overall there was a lot more diversity in my life then when I started college.

I wasn't like a star student or anything for the last few years, I still failed a test here and there, but I did pretty well on average. Mostly I think it taught me to question my own judgement and choices and realize it was ok to admit when if made a mistake and change my mind or bail on something stupid.
