In 30-50 years, I don't think any reasonable person will be able to look at the history of modern Palestine without recognizing the systematic ethnic cleansing of Arab inhabitants--an ongoing process that continues today.

This simple observation is starting to gain traction in the US, despite enormous efforts to suppress it. (But when you have the mountains of evidence present, like hundreds of thousands of refugees unable to return home, it's hard to suppress the truth for long, especially in the internet age. Look at Turkey's increasingly ridiculous denial of the Armenian genocide for comparison.)

This small but increasing awareness is one major driver of a major change taking place in US-Israel relations. And it goes hand in hand with the other: Israel's striking and continuing shift to the right (a process that's been underway since at least the 70s). These two factors make Israel less and less popular with Democrats specifically--who lean center/left and are less willing to overlook Middle Eastern war crimes (with the notable exception of America's regime of summary execution by drone strike).

The change came into sharp relief this week when Israel's centrist prime minister spoke to congress by way of a deal struck with Republicans behind the president's back. (Considering the rightward shift of Israeli society, I think it's fair to reclassify Likud as centrist, even though they are traditionally considered solidly rightist.)

While pundits worry that Bibi was unnecessarily injecting partisanship into US-Israel relations, he was merely telling the time of day: due to increasing skepticism from Democrats, Israel will in the near future no longer be able to rely on them as solid allies. And that means tilting more heavily towards Republicans--and hence the major Republican constituency of Evangelicals.

This last point, of course, has fascinating ramifications for relations between American Jews and their Israeli siblings.
