What film is the best example of 0% chemistry between two actors?

I absolutely agree about Wolf and Silence. I also think Shutter Island was really terrific in terms of his directing and such a beautiful pic. Departed was also just such a fun picture, but it also had that unfortunate bit of having a terrific actress (Vera Farmiga) whose role turned out just to be a love interest. But she really killed in that, just like Cate Blanchett totally rocked it in Aviator. Departed and Aviator would be such lesser pictures if it wasn't for the actresses.

But for Silence, I feel like maybe, again, Scorsese was too hands off with it. Too much of it felt rushed or just hinging on the actors getting it in the first take. Especially with the accents and the scope of the picture, Garfield seemed a bit more loose than a more paced shoot would give him. I loved Silence for its tone and its theme, which were put together very well, but some of it seemed too rushed to give the leads room to explore themselves. Especially with the big scope and timeline of the picture. I just feel like I'd rather sacrifice the background for the foreground.
