Friends for over 30 years. Took 2 weeks off when her fiancé was tragically killed in an accident a few years ago to literally bathe, feed, and clothe her as she was unable to function. Stuck by her as she cast out all her friends and became a functional alcoholic. Was the only person who supported her rushed marriage to an unemployed disabled mentally unstable guy she met on the internet in an effort to not be alone. Found myself in an abusive marriage where my ex ended up breaking into my home and robbing me. Needed to corroborate the amount stolen from me with witnesses. Asked her if she’d be one since she knew me as I was accumulating my life savings that were stolen and we had talked about how to properly invest them many times. She agreed. Found out from the ADA she refused to corroborate. Wouldn’t talk to me or face me until after I met with the ADA who wouldn’t go forward because of her. Ended three decades of friendship and I still don’t know why she wouldn’t tell the truth and help me leave.
