What fun fact distinguishes your country from the rest of Europe?

The actual list has more than 100 entries, they only show the top 20 online. For an ambitious country like Sweden that is regularly on top 1 spots (e.g., in gender equality), that doesn't look overwhelming.

Yeah, such nice sidewalks and bike roads exist, they're just not built consequentially enough to ensure an overall smooth driving experience for everyone. Typical issues are lacking continuity (for example, a broad sidewalk suddenly becomes tight and bike-only, but pedestrians keep walking on it because they otherwise would have to cross the road) and unclear situations (who has the right of way? Especially if the only signs are printed on the ground, where they might easily be blurred out over time).

There are also planning errors. For example, Gothenburg recently opened a new big bridge that was planned to be much flatter than the bridge it was supposed to replace, leading to a much smoother cycling experience. Great, right? Except that they had to change the plans last-minute because they hadn't coordinated the plans well enough with all involved parties. The actual bridge is almost as steep as the old one.

As someone who's open to start biking more often, but not committed to it, I didn't feel particularly motivated to do that now.
