What game are you buying next?

I bought a Switch on release, but have only bought 4 games: Zelda, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 and Snipperclips. i have really only spent any considerable time on Mario Kart and Zelda. Unfortunately, the Switch competes for my time with my PC (as i'm mainly a PC gamer) and that as a gamer my main interests are RPGs (Isometric firstly, followed by jrpg and then action). The PC has a lot more of these type of games that I enjoy playing.

There have been a couple of RPGs released but either I wasn't excited about the concept (GolfStory) or received the dreaded generic criticism (I Am Satsuma.) I held out purchasing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (as it seems to have had a very love/hate response), but it has been something that i've been watching and recently bought after viewing some content on Youtube. The VO wasn't as bad as some reviews made out (I enjoy hearing more unique accents other than typical American /British dubs, so having a Welsh accent wasn't a problem but a plus for me. There is also the japanese, if i want a more authentic experience. The other main criticism has been the slowburn / tendency to disrupt the flow of the game with tutorial advice during the first 6 hours or so, which is something i can deal with. It seems as long as those two points don't put you off then most players seem pretty happy with the game and get a lot of use out of it with players having 100 -150 hrs in the game.

My next purchases will be

1) Pillars of eternity 2. I'll buy this on PC first as I played the original and loved it and want to continue with my previous character. That being said having an isometric on the switch is a dream come true for me. If you like old school RPGs with party management and strategy then this is something you should buying.

2) Octopath. I played the demo and I think it has an interesting and different approach. My only concern is that while the game seems to offer a lot of variety, each individual class might feel a little too linear. We all have our gameplay preferences and hopefully the roles have enough depth to satisfy these. 3) Darkest Dungeon. I like the theme and the difficulty ramp. 4) Titan Quest. It's a diabloesque action RPG that I already own on pc, but it's a really good game. It has a lot of character customisation and loot! Has a cool narrative that sees you fighting through every ancient mythological setting and provides challenge through different difficult settings.

Unsure: 1) Golf Story. I've heard so much good stuff about this game that I really want to give it a chance, but the theme puts me off massively.

2) Skyrim. I have it on PC, but struggled to get in to it. As someone who enjoys doing everything, ironically i often find I get bored in sandbox RPGs due to getting distracted by side quests or crafting or collecting collectibles (hey Zelda, i'm looking at you). Maybe having it on a portable device might make it easier to stay invested in the narrative?
