What games did you really like/wanted to keep playing but stopped because of that one annoying level/mission and why was it so bad?

I know this thread is old, but the absolute worst for me (multiple times as I loved the game as a kid but always got stuck here and only beat it once because the jump puzzle sucked so much) was the meat circus level on Psychonauts. It was just one jump where you had to time the jump to allow you to hang on to a circus performer's knife as it rotated on a target and then make a perfect double-jump to the platform but there was so much that could screw you with RNG like where he threw the knife, where you were when he threw it (and you had to be jumping to get him to throw it in the right place) and then you had to hang on to the knife and wait long enough to be in jump range but the knife wouldn't get far enough if it wasn't thrown perfectly and you wouldn't make the jump unless you waited the exact correct amount of time. The game went from being an amazingly fun adventure game with only occasionally challenging platforming and combat to having a crushing Super Mario Bros. 1% clear puzzle platform map at the end.

Maybe I'd clear this quickly now, but it took hundreds of tries and a lot of luck for me to get it even once as a kid. That was one of my favorite games, but I just turned it off when I got to the meat circus and watched the ending on Youtube.
