What is a gay Jewish life actually supposed to look like, in orthodoxy?

You are asking real question. I think like the problem here is less sexual than cultural. In orthodoxy the society and the life itself of individual is based on the family, in the most natural way (I mean familly have a lot of definition in english today, it’s not a order of appreciation) Apart from Leviticus itself and the bite on the forbidden intercourse, there all the talmudic and other rabbinic literature displaying the life of individuals portraying the family and the heterosexual couple to achieve perfection, both for male and female, for individual, family and then society. It means that what you can’t control and not achieve, including sexual but not only sexual (can be a fertility issue, psychology issue, and so on and so on), God will forgive, but all what is within your free will, you need to accomplish according to the Torah vision of natural family as we defined.
