What genuinely offends you?

It's harsh, but I'd be on your side with that. Its incredible how much an ordinary sundays church session sound like a bunch of sect members on a get-together mumbling meaningless phrases while a guy in a white dress tells them stories about a guy that (allegedly) lived 2000 years ago. Or about how the earth was definitely not created.

And when you call them out on the bulls**t they believe in, you get shouted down, arguing that everything written there is symbolic in means. Goddammit people! It was written 2fuckingthousand years ago. The people tried to explain their live that way. We know today that this is wrong, and we should adapt, and move from believing in a god, to the more scientific method of Ockhams Razor for example. Does this sound very likely to be true? The universe and everything in it (including us) created by a kindof person which sees and knows everything and cares for every single person on the planet? I don't think so.

Okay I ranted and hated. Now back to normal mode. I know that it is vital for some to have their religion, but please, if you could do me one favor. Be a better person than most religious people, and do not take every aspect of your religion seriously. In science, if something is discussed, I often feel like one argument follows the other, until a conclusion is found. In religion however, i feel like I am talking against a wall which wants to proselytize me with all the preaches he or she has in mind. Everytime i bring a valid argument stating that what the person said is definitely wrong, the answer is always: Thats what you believe.

Hopefully, this whole text isnt too extreme...
