What is the 'Global Assessment of Functioning"?

Your neuropsychologist may be violating ethical guidelines and could lose her license for a number of reasons. First, in regards to their unwillingness to provide service without payment giving you only partial feedback. She is making a serious ethical violation if you have been provided results that have not been interpreted with her assistance, as neither you, nor any of us without conducting your testing and doing all of the interviewing ourselves, can possibly be in a position to provide feedback. She does have the right to refuse service if not paid, however, she shouldn't have provided any parts of the service if that were the case, and providing results that aren't provided with feedback is serious stuff and so unbelievably irresponsible.

Second, the test selection the neuropsychologist made may have violated our ethical code. As others have said, GAF is outdated, and one of our ethical guidelines for test administration is that we use updated tests reflecting current knowledge in the field.

PM me if you'd like to discuss in further detail, as I'm very interested in advocacy work, and the acceptable practice in the field I'm trying to enter.

You should investigate this with the APA's assistance, as neuropsychologists must follow certain codes of conduct.

The below is from the APA's website.
