What do you think goes through your dogs mind(s) the moment you walk out of your dogs sight for work or an errand?

Mine gets seriously distressed thinking it's being abandoned. It's not a rescue, still only 7 months old, but it's so attached to me and my partner now and spends so much time with us it worries so much when one of us is gone.

With that said, since I work full time it's used to me being out the house and returning a lot, and from what I'm told doesn't get super loud and whiny or distressed when I'm gone, just mopes about for a while and stares at the door. So just missing me and wondering when I'm coming back.

When my partner has to go out instead the dog will usually whine a lot and pace around. After 10 minutes though the fact I'm calmly doing things about the house signals that nothing is wrong and that stops the whining and the dog just goes back to normal.

So I guess a a mix of "where are they going without me, why can't I go, when will they be back, I miss them".
