For the record, Eminem himself references issues (although he said it was premature ejaculation) in his Mariah diss "The Warning" that he put out after she released "Obsessed" (in 2003, just to put this shit in perspective) and it was not-so-subtly about him. It was a "I'll go ahead and call myself out - now what do you have to say?" moment:

This shit has genuinely been going on for fucking ages, and it actually started with Mariah denying the gossip that they were dating. Turns out she had recorded some audio at his home studio so it she looked dumb trying to deny it and stopped talking pretty quick after the track dropped.

Then, IIRC, Nick took it upon himself to snap back, failed twice, and has just continually been attempting to prod Em enough to get a response. He got like half a second in Mariah's diss track and that's about it.
