What good books have you read?

I really enjoy reading, I've read a lot of books, and really want to read more, here's some of my faves and I'm happy to hear any recommendations.

current : "Authority" from the "Southern Reach" trilogy, which I heard about on Reddit. I really loved "Annihilation" and am enjoying the second book so far!

From my youth:

The Silmarillion If you are any sort of Tolkien fan, I can't recommend enough. It's long, and complicated, and there's a really boring chapter about the lay of the land, plus a shit ton of characters, but the stories inside are beautiful and complex and just truly illustrate the depth of Tolkien's mind and works.

Joyland recently lent this to my little brother as his first Stephen King novel. I am, full disclosure, a huge SK fan - but this one is just so instantly readable and delightful anyone would love it. It's light on the horror and supernatural and heavy on the coming of age and relatable human elements.

Brain on fire nonfiction and very interesting look into what it would feel like to go insane.

Never Let me Go One of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. I really should read another one of his books.
