What is so great about rice cookers?

None of these comments are addressing your main concern so I will: unless you cook rice hours and hour ahead of time, and unless your rice cooking in a pot is inconsistent, then you will not have much use for a rice cooker.

As other comments mention, rice cookers are about the warming feature and the consistency. Households that eat rice 1 or multiple times a day have a use for it. Households that eat rice casually may not. Households that cook rice consistently in a pot may not have a use for it either. Households that sometimes burn the rice or make it soggy or sticky may want it more.

I personally believe most people don’t need a rice cooker. You may be one of them.
