What happened to USA ladies figure skating?

I wasn't trying to say that all higher level coaches are bad at teaching beginners/little kids. Just that of the coaches I've met who don't like teaching beginners, they all happen to be high level coaches with established students. I have met high level coaches who are great with beginners/little kids, and some are good because they have so much experience, whereas some newer/less experienced coaches just kind of drill the kids because they don't know any other way to teach. Really just depends. I was just trying to point out that some coaches don't like doing group classes, and other coaches are just bad at working with young kids. And even if the skating director/rink wants them to teach in a way that's mostly drills, there are still ways to make that fun if the coaches are creative.
