What happened in your childhood that makes you look back in horror today?

People need to grow up and harden up a little bit. My recollection of slave day is that it had nothing to do with American slavery, it was just mindless stupidity. Very much similar to the "slave auction" depicted in groundhog day with Bill Murray, except that was a "charity auction." And this happened in Hawaii - where white people are a minority, and I don't remember a white domination aspect everyone participated, so spare me the hand wringing. Also we had "kill haole day" which did have a racial aspect, and some people claim continues to this day. We also played cops and robbers, and cowboys and indians, how horrifyingly racist and retrograde. And don't worry, new generation. You too will be judged harshly and eaten by your offspring. Already we are seeing harmless activities like luau-themed parties be considered (by some) to be either in bad taste, or "cultural appropriation." I'm sure within 20-years that will have graduated to full blown cultural oppression at best and genocidal intent at worst.
