Not cease to exist, but the outrage over manufactured culture wars is driving extremism to the point where there are militia training camps preparing for a civil war. If shit gets extra violent in America, people and resources go towards the violence and depending on how far it goes and the extent of the damage, while we recover we can be surpassed and it can take decades to come back (hence a collapse).
Shit is boiling over, the results and the reactions after midterms and the 2024 will be a great indicator.
