What happened at your work which caused multiple people to all quit at once?

Worked for a nonprofit who had a huge change of management. The boss I and everyone else left, they brought in someone else and then they promoted the woman who was not a nice person. When they did they told everyone those that weren't down with the change could leave, so about six people walked out on the spot.

I thought about it seriously, but I loved the work and loved the clients. And these were not people who had a lot of people in their lives or someone who would give a damn about them, so I stayed. Biggest mistake of my life, so a month later I and two other people all quit the same day. Well, rather none of us showed up to work.

Sadly, I was persuaded to go back thinking I could tough it out and just ignore the management and continue to help people. Yeah, no. I got promoted to "management" and thus began my true descent into hell.

I did finally leave for good, but I stayed in that abusive relationship of a job for far, far too long.
